Seen Through Glass Pt.1 (Photowalk)
back
August 21, 2023
Terrace, Menara Maybank, KL
A recap by
Joel Tey
A photo walk along the culturally rich streets of Chinatown led by Abang Khairil of Film Is Not Dead, we explored historical landmarks through our own lens with film cameras! It was many firsts for all of us, including developing and printing our own negatives in a darkroom built from ground up right here in Balai Seni!
Why did I bring this episode to life?
In the hustle and bustle of our modern world, we often take instant gratification from technology for granted. This reliance bleeds into our habits, which we set out to defy. Film photography is a great way to slow down and appreciate the world around us, often making us think before we take that next step forward. It was also really fun to watch the photos come to life in the darkroom!
